Join us…Baby Massage Pontyclun
Having a new baby is so special. All the little moments; time seems to stand still when you are gazing into your new babies eyes and discovering every little dimple, little crease, little fold of the ears. We instinctively want to explore our babies when they are small, touching them gently and singing softly to sooth them and nurture them. As mothers we naturally massage our babies from birth without even knowing it. When we rub cream into their skin after a bath, or as we wipe their little bottoms and spread cream to protect their sensitive skin. It’s primal and natural to stroke and caress our babies often.
What I love about baby massage classes is that we incorporate all those natural, instinctual, soft touches and caresses into a gentle, beneficial routine that flows nicely with songs and rhymes. It’s a way for us to make massage part of our daily routine and teach baby the benefits of gentle, positive touch. Our babies love how soothing it is to be massaged before bedtime and they show us how much they crave this positive touch by sleeping so well after class and after bedtime massage.
The benefits of massaging your baby are endless. Massage encourages brain development by stimulating the circulatory and nervous systems. Tummy massage helps with colic and digestive problems like reflux and constipation. Facial massage will relieve pain from teething and drain mucus during cold and flu season. But best of all, baby massage releases all those ‘feel good’ happy hormones in both mum/dad and baby, relaxing you both and creating a beautiful moment for bonding.
Baby massage is a handy tool for Mamas and Dads to use to encourage a healthy nights sleep or a long afternoon nap. Baby massage is the most natural and loving way to communicate with your baby before they are able to talk. Eye contact and soothing touch is the best method of supporting the natural development of your baby’s senses at this young age. You can practice baby massage at home from birth but we invite parents and babies to classes from 6 weeks old.
Classes are gentle, fun and calming. You’ll leave feeling refreshed and comforted in knowing you spent a whole hour having one-to-one time with your baby without any distractions. You will learn how to massage your baby in the form of a simple routine that is recommended by the Guild of Infant and Child Massage. This 5 week course is packed full of fun! We sing songs and rhymes while learning different ways to make massage enjoyable for you and your baby. By the third class you will feel confident and know an entire massage routine to use at home with your baby. Your baby will understand that a massage is enjoyable and should feel comfortable receiving massage in your home.
Classes in Pontyclun are weekly from 9:30am.
